Debunking the claims of Ajit Vadakayil about Sikhism – Part III
11. They expelled
the Brahmins from the Har Mandir, where the latter had worked as priests. They also threw out the idols of “Hindu” Gods
from this temple which were installed there.
These were the same gods that Guru Nanak had worshipped and mentioned so lovingly in his memoirs.
– It looks like
that it’s the statement of a man who believes that the Great Wall of China was
built by Indians/Hindus, Taj Mahal is a Tejo Temple, and the construction of
the Vatican City was inspired by the Shivlinga (just because of some
resemblance.)
The second point is the inability
to understand the words which are there in Guru Granth Sahib ji. Ernest Trumpp
(will talk in length about him in some other article) was no exception. His
brain was stuffed with the wrong stories and information given by the brahmins
of the time who were helping him to translate the gurbani after the Sikhs in Amritsar left him due to sacrilege of
Guru Granth Sahib ji in the room.
Since then, actually before that,
since the beginning of Sikhism, people from different religions talk about
Sikhi that how Sikhism was influenced by their religion or part of their
religion, a handful of the followers (not all of them) of Islam and Hinduism
were at the front row; a few concluded that Sikhism was the amalgamation of
Hinduism and Islam; few months back we’ve a new religion which’s using the same
wording. Christianity.
Bhai Jugraj Singh from the Basics
of Sikhi said it several times that Sikhism is the whole truth. Every religion
has some truth in it, but they have bits and pieces, Sikhism is the whole
truth. I really like the statement because it solves so many convictions of
Sikhism being part of some other religion. The main reason behind that is the
words used in Guru Granth Sahib ji. If we say ‘Ram’, people will say it’s a
Hindu word; if we say ‘Allah’, people will say it’s a Muslim word. They’d no
sense whatsoever to understand Waheguru that’s why He came on this earth in the
form of Guru Nanak Dev ji to teach that they all are the karam naam of Waheguru and to show the True Path. Those who understood
are Sikhs now; others are still struggling to point out if Brahman word came
from Abraham word or Abraham word came from Brahman word.
Without having santhea, it’s very hard to comprehend gurbani. We misunderstand it because of the influence that people
on the Internet have on us. We are writing an article about the names
of Waheguru in gurbani and their meanings.
Guru
Nanak Dev ji is the first Sikh Guru who started Sikhism. Guru Nanak Dev ji
rejected the idea of worshipping any deities or idols so vehemently that Ajit
Vadakayil didn’t give a single verse where Guru Nanak Dev ji showed any hint of
following any deities. People who do sehej
path know it every well what type of reverence is there in gurbani for the deities. Although I’m
not saying that people shouldn’t follow them; if it’s in their religion, they
can do whatever they want, but Sikhs don’t worship the deities and never did
the Sikh Gurus.
Following
are the verses written by Guru Nanak Dev ji.
He created air, water and fire,
Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva – the whole creation.
All are beggars; You alone are the
Great Giver, God. You give Your
gifts according to Your own
considerations. || 4 ||
Thirty-three million gods beg of
God the Master; even as He gives, His treasures are never exhausted.
Brahma and Vishnu, the Rishis
and the silent sages, Shiva and
Indra, penitents and beggars – whoever obeys the Hukam of the Lord, looks
beautiful in the Court of the True
Lord, while the stubborn rebels die.
Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva stand at
His Door; they serve the unseen,
infinite Lord.
Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are
diseased; the whole world is diseased. Those who remember the Lord’s Feet and
contemplate the Word of the Guru’s Shabad are liberated. || 4 ||
(Just to debunk the opinion/belief
of some ignorant people who say whenever Har comes in gurbani it’s for
Vishnu, this is the perfect example to show them. In the second line, Har word
is used for Waheguru, because in the first line it’s said that Vishnu is
diseased.)
Brahma,
Vishnu and Shivji are not above Waheguru; they are just the servants of
Waheguru and do what’s said to do. They don’t have an independent authority to
do something. Many of the Hindus even say this that Brahman (not Brahma, a
deity, or brahmin, a pandit) is above all the deities that they believe in.
And, I, personally, don’t have any issue if the Supreme Power in the universe
is called Waheguru or Ram or Allah or Brahman or God. The names of Waheguru are
based on the attributes or actions of His.
I
couldn’t understand how someone with one-digit IQ will think that These were the same gods that Guru Nanak had
worshipped; you must have a special kind of idiotic nature, or you are just
an ignorant follower of fake historians/shakas.
More
to that, you can find hundreds of articles on Ajit Vadakayil’s blog (will use
AVB from now onwards) claiming that how the verses of Guru Granth Sahib ji were
changed by the British people, how Kabir ji never existed in history (it’s very
easy to understand the dismissal of the existence of Bhagat Kabir ji and that’s
because he refuted the very idea of idols and all the superstitions that Hindus
and Muslims were believing in. He singlehandedly kept all of them at the bay
and didn’t let them interfere in what he believed in.), how the other gods that
other civilizations believe in are the copy of the Hindu gods, or how the great
civilizations and religions are just the branches of Hinduism or Sanatan
Dharma. He even said that Jesus Christ came to India to learn about astrology.
People who really believe in all the stories that AVB talks about need to seek
an appointment with a shrink.
The
last point is the idols that he mentioned in his point. I have no strong
evidence right now to check if some idols were present near the sarovar (not in the Harmandir Sahib
where the parkash of Guru Granth
Sahib ji is done) of Harmandir Sahib or not, but I’ve heard from people that at
the time of the British, some brahmins started doing ill-practises that were
against gurmat. But that’s nothing to
do with the Sikh Gurus or Sikhi. We’ve a perfect example of Massa Rangar who
desecrated Harmandir Sahib. Bhai Sukha Singh and Bhai Mehtab Singh avenged
that. Now think of a person claiming that how alcohol and mujras are allowed in Sikhism as it happened in Harmandir Sahib,
how ridiculous it’ll be.
12. Everybody knows when the Moghul
invaders started terrorizing the Hindus, they got together and donated their
first born to wear the 5Ks’ and be a Sikh warrior. – This is the common misconception
among many people. The first thought that comes in mind is that if there’re
enough Hindus who were donating the first-born sons to wear the 5Ks, what was
the need of that if they could have handled them themselves? Say, two thousand
men were ready to wear 5Ks, they will join the Khalsa Panth but won’t fight
against the Mughals by their own? This sounds absurd.
Let’s
talk about the time before the creation of the Khalsa Panth i.e. 1699. After
the martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev ji, Guru Hargobind Sahib ji started a new order
in Sikhism and that’s armouring themselves to fight against injustice. Guru
Hargobind Sahib ji fought the following battles:
·
Battle
of Amritsar
·
Battle
of Kiratpur
·
Battle
of Kartarpur
·
Battle
of Hargobindpur
This’s
the time of Guru Hargobind Sahib ji. At that time, too, the Sikhs protected the
Hindus. Why the Hindus didn’t join the army then? Why was it after 1699? Were
they not oppressed till 1699? Why suddenly they changed their minds after 1699?
Were there not enough Hindu kings present before 1699 to fight against Mughals
that the Hindus didn’t give the first son? How many of them died fighting in
Punjab against the Mughals to protect the Hindus before 1699, at the time of
the Sikh Gurus?
Or
the whole story of ‘giving first child’ is fake?
Secondly,
it’s as if saying that they were following the Order of Khalsa out of fear,
which’s wrong. Many of the Sikhs at that time were because of the love for the
Guru and the True Path was shown by the Sikh Gurus.
13. This events is recorded in the Guru Granth Sahib holy book , as Babur
Vani. There is a Pakistani version I
know, which is NOT worth being mentioned in this post. – AVB talks about Guru Nanak Dev
ji seeing the destruction of the places by Babur. The blogger says that the
Babur Bani is some Pakistani version.
A
person who’s not read the gurbani
talks about it! Hah!
Guru
Granth Sahib ji is the only granth
present in the whole world which was written at the time of the gurus. If we
talk about the Bible or the Quran or some other religious books like Gita and
all, they were not written by the people when the preachers were alive or under
the watch of preachers. In the case of the gurbani,
it’s written by Bhai Gurdas ji and spoken by Guru Arjan Dev ji. And Guru Arjan
Dev ji read the bani after Bhai
Gurdas ji wrote it to check if everything’d been written correctly or not.
Second
is that Guru Granth Sahib ji is not like the Ramayana which’s several versions,
and in one of them it’s written that Sita killed Ravan. It’s not just an
assumption like what AVB did. You can check it anywhere about the different
versions of the Ramayana. It’s also said by Amish Tripathi, author of the Shiva
Trilogy.
All
over the world, Guru Granth Sahib ji has the same version. At the older times,
when there’s no press, the saroop was
handwritten by the Sikhs. Now when the press is available, although some Sikhs
still write the saroop of Guru Granth
Sahib ji with hands, they use the machine to print.
While
writing the ‘different versions’, he didn’t give a single piece of evidence to
support what different versions are there and what other things are mentioned
in Babur Bani. Why? Because of lies.
There’re
few shabads in Guru Granth Sahib ji
where the incidents of the time’s mentioned that how the Mughals looted India.
Mentioning of that makes it a Pakistani version? How foolish Ajit Vadakayil is!
14. World War I and World War II – Sikhs have a great history in
World War I and World War II. Not only Sikhs but Hindus and Muslims were also
recruited at that time.
The
British were ruling the country, they were
the government of the time. Many people joined the wars to have meals on the
tables. There were not big IT companies to join to get money. Different paths
were there to earn a salary. Think of the current government of India, and,
say, in the near future we have a completely different scenario in the country
and some dilettante says that Sikhs or Hindus or Muslims supported the
government years back.
Sikhs’
bravery was well-known to the rulers of any time; Mughals, the British, or the
current government. People always find a way to mingle the false stories with
the truth to blur it. AVB was an epitome of that. In the whole blog, he talked
about the Sikhs fighting in the war and how Gandhi was just doing what
Rothschild was telling him behind the curtain; nowhere, I repeat, nowhere he
mentioned the Hindus participating in the war, and the reason behind that’s the
ugly truth and that’s they served the government of the time too.
All
over his blog, he’s written about how the Hinduism is the ultimate truth and
sprinkled the word ‘Rothschild’ all over the articles to show how the great
history of the Hindus were changed by the Rothschild Family. I’m not saying
that Hindus shouldn’t be proud of their religion or culture; they should be.
But a pretence makes the readers believe in a story, and that is really a
pathetic way of attracting the crowd. The readers who’re already lost go to
these blogs to seek the truth about the history, what they get is ‘Rothschild.’
Temerity
of the blogger is so blunt that his pretence of sowing the seed in the minds of
young readers seems somewhat working. I remember reading the article first time
in my life, and I was so taken aback by the false stories created by him to
disregard the sacrifices of Sikhs. He just showed Sikhs as puppets. Being a
Sikh, I definitely hold different beliefs than others if we compare wholly.
Never in my mind I’ve the idea of defaming a religion by writing scornful
history that doesn’t have any base.
One
part that many readers, who’ve read his article, might’ve turned a blind eye to
will be the poem that he mentioned that how Sikhs were at that time.
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and
well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.
The
poem was written by Alfred Lord Tennyson. It’s related to the war between
Russia and Turkey back in 1854-56. It’s nothing to do with the Sikhs. Many of
the readers will think of it as if it’s related to the Sikhs and the
highlighted lines are the same that’re there on his blog to emphasise the
involvement of Sikhs in the World War I and World War II.
Battle
of Saragarhi is one of the amazing battles of our history where the difference
between the two armies fighting the battle was huge. Even in these days, the
battle is remembered by the Sikh Regiment. To reduce the effect that it can
have on someone who’s reading the history, AVB talks about how ‘the Rothschild caused UNESCO to recognize this battle
as one among eight battles of the world known for collective bravery.’
I’m
pretty sure if there’re any battles which’ve the Sikhs, he would always say
that they were known as the best because of the Rothschild. During the conflict
between India and Pakistan back in 1971, the Battle of Longewala is another
great battle in history when few soldiers stood against many. The Punjab
Regiment was at the front to fight, and if instead of that the Sikh Regiment
were there, the blogger would have called it some ‘Rothschild’s idea’ too.
Actually,
it’s very common, you know. If someone is attacking your religion and saying
it’s all nonsense, you will find a way to say how all the scriptures were
changed and all. These days people won’t believe if we talk about all the caste
related incidents of the past in India, so then the lies come forward that how
it’s some clever brahmins who changed everything or how the British’s malign
ideas changed the very basic meaning of our way of understanding Hinduism, for
example Shivlinga. Tell people that it’s a cock, they will laugh that people
worship it; add few words that people know of like ‘cosmoses, energy, universe’
to change its meaning. Simple.
I’m
not trying to bash the Shaivism. The tradition that existed and practised by
the people for years can or can’t be changed, or in other way, the thinking of
the people. If the followers of Shivji put water on the statue of the penis of
Shivji, it’s their tradition. The young generation doesn’t care about the
worshipping of a cock, so for the reverence of their practice, they tell them
that it is the energy or cosmoses-related thing, or more recently the pineal
gland.
One
incident is worth mentioning here and that’s the Battle of Bhangani. It’s the
battle against the Hill Chieftains (that AVB doesn’t talk about much and change
it by saying how some ‘Khalistanis’ are claiming that Hindus were with the
Mughals to fight against Guru Gobind Singh ji. Maybe that’s bringing some shame
that’s why he is not agreeing to that. But it’s the truth that the Hill
Chieftains had battles with the Sikhs, and they joined hands with the Mughals.)
In the battle, Peer Buddu Shah came along with the Guru Sahib to fight against
the Mughals and the Hindu Hill Chieftains. Those who can’t just grasp the truth
that Muslims can be good too will change it someday by saying that Peer Buddu
Shah never existed and it’s created by the Rothschild Family.
In
the whole article of AVB, there’re so many loose ends and the contradictions
that it’s so foolish to say it’s a work of history. Historic writings are based
on the writing of some other authors present at the time, and sometimes they
can’t be trusted especially if the truth is hidden. In the case of AVB, he
didn’t talk about the base of stories he’s written but says that they will not
be there anywhere but here, as if the Rothschild Family told him personally on
phone. Hah!
During
the flow of his writing he also claims that the Gorkhas were given the false
experiments like their swords should have blood on them if they pulled them
out. The truth is if we look into the history of any culture or religion, the
weapons were always worshipped by the warriors. They would put some blood on
the weapons, but a dilettante will never know this.
